About Rootstock

Rootstock is a place to re-learn the connection to nature that we are forgetting as a human society.

Our camp offers a chance to live in the way that our ancestors did: cooking around a fire and sharing stories, dancing, making music and dreaming.

Take part in the education of the future: the voice of nature is not just for our children - it's for everyone.

At Rootstock you can:

Friends dressed in ceremonial fun clothes wearing face paint and sticking out their tongues!

Connect

Find and make friendships in our all-age, supportive environment. It's a week-long discovery of the joys of community living.

Learn

Learn skills that you can take home at the end of the week, whether you're learning to tie knots, identify plants or create sustainable structures

Flow

Dance in the dew and enjoy the sensation of grass under your bare feet. Movement is part of each day at Rootstock from morning yoga to evening dance and many times in between!

Overcome obstacles and develop your strength and determination.

Warm up for Rootstock 2025 with this in person storytelling event at our secret woodland location near Royston, Herts. Storyteller Nicholas Wilkinson will guide us through the myth of Demeter while we enjoy hot drinks, potluck food and the crackling embers of the open fire.
